note: this is a rant not a review
I am no movie connoisseur, i have liked tons of movies that critics turned there noses up at … i mean i enjoyed things like independence day which got some horrible reviews… or even more recent underworld ... and there are things that they really like that i hate … i won’t even go there.
Actually i don’t even bother with reviews so much … ok maybe a little, but i think it’s a clever ploy most of the time, and i wish i got paid to watch movies… now it’s mostly about word of mouth…
So … there have been some bad bonds … Timothy Dalton is the one that most recent rings a bell… but I still remain a loyal bond fan… Pierce Brosnan was decent, but I was a fan of his since a kid with Remington Steele ... and he gets automatic thumbs up when he co-stars with Halle Berry... drool …
Still… even though I remained loyal… none really recreated the memory of watching Sean Connery …
Then there came Casino Royale … i had mix feelings especially when most of the reviews were good, which is pretty rare for an action film …
I thought it was pretty good movie … and i think Daniel Craig played a great bond … finally … bond is back ... there were the usual tons of product placement, but you expect that … but the girl is pretty nice, although not reminiscent of a true bond girl… but still nice .. movie could of been shorter … and at one point he drives a ford??
By the way … of the friends who saw it with me … we were 1/2 and 1/2 … 1/2 who liked it liked sean connery and 1/2 who didn’t liked roger moore…
Anyway no spoilers here … bond id back ... and hopefully we see more of Daniel Craig as bond…
