What's left in CSS.. have we done it all?

I want something to procrastinate over, seems like all the smart people have done almost everything.

I must admit this community has peaked my interest over the last year, but has the drive gone, have we explored everything … daily posts seem to have gone to weekly and monthly even. I never set up a news reader, because there was something new always!

I have come with many ideas, implemented and created. Then I look around and some smarter person has done it before, and usually better. Does this negate what I did, certainly not.. you better believe after pulling out some hairs I will remember vs. cutting and pasting.

but… i want to be smart too …

I want to come up with an idea that no one has done, but is there such a thing…

Maybe there isn’t a new way to use a float, or image replacement… but there are always ways to abstract and refine. Keep in mind, there are still many places that remain untouched in the world of css… just look at your phone or pda. 2004-12-17

And there’s always CSS3 to explore. 2004-12-17

It was hard enough to convince my company to adopt some CSS2. People actually still open up NN4 to make sure site has good look and feel there. In their defense, although they use tables for layout (a comfort thing), they make every effort not to have deeply insanely nested tables… and it reads well linearlized.

I would like to do some CSS3, but I like putting things to actual work, so I am stuck with a subset of CSS2 for a little while

I often think this, what’s the point? It’s been done before, I don’t have the insight to do something impressive. 2004-12-31
