74 CSS Gallery Roundup

I use galleries for basic inspiration and knowledge. I did a google and there are millions of them… so I ranked them on there usefulness TO ME… Design, dates, frequency are big factors, but others things come into play … like css news, ranking, comments … After the first 10 or so … I don’t really go anywhere else… and really the first (CSSMania) is what I check regularly…

how is the fade done? » Use JavaScript to progressively fade text color and size..

I built Most Inspired, Light on Dark & Full Single. Yes, I’m a busy boy.

Sorry you don’t like the designs, but thanks for the linkage.

Oh, I don’t think Screenspire showcased single page websites like Full Single does.

Mubashar Iqbal

wow you are a busy boy … and the fact that you place so high means content is key … design is subjective…

2007-03-13
Matthew Hall

Although not necessarily a CSS gallery, DHTML goodies does have some cool CSS stuff in it.

– so I think that it is worth mentioning.

Great list of sites!

I designed some of the hideous sites, you have described here, glad to know you have mastered the art of constructive critique.

By the way MostInspired.com’s traffic doubled after the redesign…

I’ve been using Zeniltuo lately as a jumping off point for perusing css galleries.

Andy Ford

@andy - nice link …

@david – Sorry that you were offended ... most inspired is high up on my list though. If you want my feedback I will give it … but this is how i see things … can’t change the way i feel…

Wooo! Nice to see mine (and Rob’s) CSS MESS up there, just missed out on the top 10 at #11. More MESS coming, along with the usual CSS. Glad you like the design too :P

Thanks :D

Not so much offended as i was put off by your choice of words, which i guess semantically would be offended. Under The Loupe #3: Critiquing is great article on critiquing.

I don’t walk around with a chip on my shoulder, I’ve been in the game too long, but there is a better way to express your opinion, in my opinion.

2007-03-14
david

Seems like you like the typical, trendy shines & gradients designs. I guess I can’t blame you.

2007-03-14
Montoya

@montoya – i guess i do … really can’t explain what catches my eye … but when i do, i know.

@david – maybe my choice of words was drastic … but this was never meant to be a detailed review of all aspects of each design. that was my immediate reaction… and i stick by what it implies … if i were giving a full review it would have been more diplomatic.

you are a designer and you probably know better. if you did logo pond it rocks … i can only react to what my gut tells me … i thought my last site was DA BOMB but people murdered me on cssvault ... que sera sera ...

Hi, would you consider including my CSS Gallery in this list? It may be a new kid on the block but I always make sure to include designs hand selected by myself (not ripped from another gallery) – PLUS I actually update even more frequently than CSSBased. I hope that you’ll consider it:

Here is another one.

www.designgrabs.com

It allows you to create an account and bookmark your own favorite web designs. Almost like a hybrid of Delicious and a CSS gallery. The best submissions are then posted on the homepage. They also have a bookmarklet to make it easy to save designs.

Fisheye Component v0.3 (Flex)
Nice gallery, with source code provided. I think I should start looking into Flex a little more.
LOUIS VUITTON - Countless Journeys, Countless Emotions
A slick well done Fash campaign from Louis Vuitton.
MCBD
The HTML page it lives on is horrible, but the flash and he perception of depth is pretty neat.
